David Coon Papers
The David Coon Papers consist of photocopied letters that were typewritten from the originals. The letters were sent to Coon's wife and children describing his first day of enlistment and subsequent events. Coon wrote about the physical examinations, camplife, the daily activities of the regiment, preparations for battles and dissatisfaction with a colonel. Also included are concerns about money and suggestions to his wife on how to handle the family farm in his absence.

The Dean of Students Records consist primarily of correspondence pertaining to fraternity and sorority concerns regarding membership, pledging, rush and initiation, housing problems, house rules, and disciplinary actions. Also included are several files related to the Kent State Strike and Anti-Ballistic Missile protest in May 1970.
DeCou Family Records
The DeCou Family Records date from 1886 to 1954 and consist mainly of diaries of several different family members. Also included is correspondence, genealogical information, and several account books. Researchers should note that all of the material in the collection are photocopies; the originals were loaned for duplication and returned to the donor.
