The This Date in North Dakota History Collection consists of a November 1966 letter from Jack Hagerty, Managing Editor of the Grand Forks Herald, to James Connolly of the North Dakota Automobile Club. Scope and Contents The Albert Baker and Mamie Kingsland Baker Papers consist mostly of correspondence by Albert to Mamie. Many of these were love letters from "Bert" prior to their marriage in 1903. The collection also contains an Adelphi Society pin that belonged to either Albert or Mamie, and a photograph of their daughter, Mary Catherine. The Upper Mississippi River Basin Commission Records consists of a statement by Gordon Berg to the Commission. Berg was a member of the North Dakota House of Representatives and was Chair of the North Dakota Citizens Advisory Council to the Upper Mississippi River Basin Commission. Berg made the statement at a regional meeting on national water policy issues in Minneapolis on 28 July 1977.

Scope and Contents The Mary Larson Papers consist of photocopied manuscripts written for Larson in the 1950s. The first manuscript concerns the life of Herman Schaefer, a farmer near New Rockford, North Dakota, during the 1890s. This manuscript is three pages long. The second manuscript, eight pages in length, is an autobiography of Mary Twist, a resident of Wells County, North Dakota, during the 1890s.
