The Upper Mississippi River Basin Commission Records consists of a statement by Gordon Berg to the Commission. Berg was a member of the North Dakota House of Representatives and was Chair of the North Dakota Citizens Advisory Council to the Upper Mississippi River Basin Commission. Berg made the statement at a regional meeting on national water policy issues in Minneapolis on 28 July 1977.

This collection contains documents regarding a bill proposed by United States Senator James Couzens of Michigan in April 1929. The bill was designed to regulate the "transmission of intelligence by wire or wireless" and to create a "commission on communication." The North Dakota congressional delegation opposed the bill, arguing that violated state's rights.

Icelandic Emigration Papers

The Icelandic Emigration Papers consist of photocopied diaries and correspondence regarding Icelandic emigrants to North Dakota. The photocopies were donated by Bergsteinn Jonsson of the University of Iceland. Also included is documentation from the "Centennial Celebration of Icelandic Communities." This event was held in Mountain, North Dakota, in June and July of 1978. All materials are in Icelandic, unless otherwise noted.
