The Lillian Bolack Papers includes an essay written by Bolack entitled "Pushing Back the Frontiers: A Pioneer Family in Rye Township, Grand Forks, North Dakota." Alfred Bolack moved from Ohio to North Dakota around 1873, where he started a farm near what is now Larimore and eventually moved closer to Grand Forks.
