Almanak was an Icelandic magazine that was published in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The collection consists solely of one photocopied issue from 1913, which contained one article on UND alum Vilhjalmur Stefansson and a second on the history of the Icelandic settlement at Upham, North Dakota.

Icelandic Emigration Papers

Scope and Contents

The Icelandic Emigration Papers consist of photocopied diaries and correspondence regarding Icelandic emigrants to North Dakota. The photocopies were donated by Bergsteinn Jonsson of the University of Iceland. Also included is documentation from the "Centennial Celebration of Icelandic Communities." This event was held in Mountain, North Dakota, in June and July of 1978. All materials are in Icelandic, unless otherwise noted.
