Scope and Contents Joan Eades, a graduate student in the English Department at the University of North Dakota, was commissioned by the Alumni Office to write “Beacon Over Our Western Land: The First One Hundred Years of the University of North Dakota” to kick off the University’s Centennial in 1983. The Chester Fritz Auditorium Records consist of show files, dating from 1972-1998, although the bulk of the material dates from 1972-1989. The show files contain documents relating to performances at the Chester Fritz Auditorium. While the documentation for each show varies, commonly found documents include: income statements, programs, contracts, merchandise order forms, food lists, newspaper clippings, correspondence, publicity photographs and slides.
