Scope and Contents "This wrap style garment was called a maternity apron and was worn during the summer of 1932. The pattern was given to my mother by a neighbor who had used it during her pregnancies in the summers of 1927, 1930, and 1931. I presume it was pinned in front. Some older patterns show snaps and ties. Since it has lace trim, it must have been her one good dress for the summer. I was born in October and delivered by a doctor at the home of a midwife in Valley City. In those days one most certainly...
