The first series contains documents related to the early history of the 164th Infantry Regiment, when it was known as the Dakota Territory Militia and the 1st North Dakota Infantry Regiment.  The primary focus is on the earliest days of the regiment prior to statehood, as well as the regiment’s role in the Mexican Border Conflict from 1916-1917.

Scope and Contents

Contains the service record for Theodore Frost. Frost was born June 4, 1926 in Velva, North Dakota. He entered the United States Army on September 20, 1944. Frost served as a member of the 3785th Quartermaster Truck Company in the African, Middle Eastern and European Theaters. He was awarded a Bronze Star, as well as a Good Conduct Medal. He separated from the army on July 10, 1946, although he re-enlisted from 1951-1952. Theodore Frost died on February 2, 1997.
