Colonel Arthur Clifford Timboe was born on January 21, 1907, in Devils Lake, North Dakota. He served the North Dakota National Guard from 1925 to 1941 when he was called to active duty in the United States Army on February 10. Timboe saw combat in World War II with the 164th Infantry, part of the famous Americal Division. He commanded the 2nd Battalion in the battle for Henderson Field, Guadalcanal, from October 24 to 26, 1942. Following...
