Scope and Contents

Throughout his life, A.H. Yoder maintained an interest in genealogy and actively researched his ancestry. This search concentrated on the Miller, Rader, Van Buskirk, Van Meter, Yoder and Gabbert families, with settlements in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York and Indiana. The bulk of the material in this collection is the result of Yoder's research, with lesser emphasis on his personal and professional life.

Biographical or Historical Information

A.H. Yoder was born in 1866 at Nora Springs, Iowa. He received a bachelor's degree from Madison State Normal School in South Dakota and attended Indiana University and Clark University. He held several positions in the field of education and was the Director of the Extension Division at the University of North Dakota from 1918 to 1934. A.H. Yoder died in Seattle, Washington, in 1940.
