Biographical or Historical Information
The Pioneer Daughters Club of Pembina County was chartered in 1941. The majority of the members were either original settlers or their descendants. Organized to honor early pioneers, the club eventually recorded the early history of Pembina County. The Club's first project was to collect the histories of the earliest pioneer mothers, focusing on women with children who had arrived in the county prior to 1890. Eventually the project expanded to include doctors and notable religious figures. By 1960, the Pioneer Daughters were actively researching and collecting information on all facets of life in Pembina County.
