Biographical or Historical Information

Founded in 1886, the North Dakota Press Association sought to adopt "measures calculated to protect the interests of newspaper publishers, and generally to improve, benefit, and build up the newspaper business in North Dakota." In March 1971, the organization's name was changed to the North Dakota Newspaper Association.
