Biographical or Historical Information

"Kenneth R. Colter, 74, Grafton, died Wednesday, Dec. 1 at St. Luke's Hospital in Fargo.  Mr. Colter wrote many histories for the Walsh County Heritage books, and had also written the History and Heritage column on the editorial pages of The Record for the past two years.  He was born Jan. 10, 1908, in Farmington Township, Walsh County, the son of William and Eva (Kingsbury) Colter.  He attended school in Auburn and graduated from Grafton High School.  In 1957 he moved into Grafton where he had resided ever since.  Mr. Colter was an accomplished pianist and composer and gave piano instructions to many Grafton children.  He is survived by one nice, Mrs. Ronnie (Jane) Nowacky, Thief River Falls, Minn.: one great-niece and one great-nephew."
