Scope and Contents

This collection comprises several photographs and written histories documenting the Dahl and Dahl-Keller families. The items in this collection establish a chronology throughout generations. However, a majority of this collection follows the life of Gunda Keller and her children, John, Richard, Jerry, and William. Gunda, the daughter of Hannah and Ole Dahl, married George Keller in 1926, creating the Dahl-Keller lineage.

Biographical / Historical

"Mrs. Hannah Dahl Dies in Hospital

Mrs. Hannah Dahl, 86 years old, a resident of East Grand Forks since 1887, died Tuesday afternoon in a Grand Forks Hospital.

Ill ten months, Mrs. Dahl had lived with her daughter, Mrs. George Keller, 502 Isabel Avenue. East Grand Forks, since 1922 when Mr. Dahl died. Mrs. Dahl had been a patient since March 5.

Born in Solor, Norway, Nov. 3, 1852, Mrs. Dahl came to the United States with her parents in 1862, settling in southern Minnesota. She was married to Ole B. Dahl, Jan. 6, 1870, in Renville, Minn., where they lived until 1879 when they moved to the Red River Valley, coming to East Grand Forks in 1887.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. B.K. Johnson and Mrs. R.M. Jenson of Grand Forks and Mrs. O.J. Nordgaard and Mrs. Keller of East Grand Forks; 27 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren."
