Nita Fox Papers
Scope and Contents
The Nita Fox Papers, 1971-1975, consist primarily of materials for several organizations, mainly relating to the Equal Rights Amendment. Fox was an active member in the North Dakota Business and Professional Women’s Club, serving as state president 1972-1973. Materials for this organization include correspondence, resolutions, and notes for a panel discussion on the Amendment. Fox also served as president of the North Dakota Commission on the Status of Women. These contents include correspondence, newspaper clippings, historical materials, and records from the (national) Citizens Advisory Council on the Status of Women. There are also items for the North Dakota Coordinating Council for the Equal Rights Amendment, as well as several folders of miscellaneous publications and clippings.

Biographical or Historical Information
Nita Fox was born in York, England. She immigrated to America and married Cal V. Fox in 1956. Fox became an American citizen December 20, 1957. She worked for many years as personal assistant to the Wing Commander at the Grand Forks Air Force Base.
