Scope and Contents

The Pearl Johnson Papers consist of a 16-page autobiography in which Johnson relates stories of her father's Norwegian ancestry, her youth, farm life, and growing up in North Dakota. In addition, this collection contains an obituary for Pearl Johnson, a poem that Clara Forde wrote linking her memories with her mother, a memorial card from her funeral, names of children, and a photograph of Pearl from 1972.

Scope and Contents The Helene Musick Papers consist of two letters. The first was written by Peter Musick, a resident of Prince Edward Island, Canada, to Katherine A. Musick, dated May 20, 1915. Katherine Musick was Helene’s step-daughter. The subject of the letter is Peter’s ruminations regarding becoming elderly. The second letter was written by Ansten Lie of Hamar, Norway, to his sister, Helene. The letter was Ansten’s first to his American relatives following the end of World War II, dated August 14, 1945....

Scope and Contents “The Souvenir Letter Lakota, No. Dak.” consists of an eight page booklet containing pictures of the surrounding area near Lakota, circa 1906. The booklet was used as a letter from Mrs. C.S. Mook to Miss Jessie Stanley Mook, dated October 23, 1906. Mrs. C.S. Mook is most likely the wife of Reverend Mook of the Good Shepherd Church of Lakota, North Dakota.
