Scope and Contents
The Lawrence Summers Papers consists of obituaries, certificates and diplomas, detailed notes on the migration habits of birds, and extensive personal correspondence spanning the 1930s through the 2000s. The correspondence, both personal and professional, offers insight into his relationships, interests, and activities throughout his life. The collection also includes seven bird-watching logbooks maintained by Dr. Summers, containing careful observations, locations, and dates of his bird studies.
