Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

The Television Center Records contain items pertaining to the programs produced for Studio One. Studio One is a live television show produced by the University of North Dakota Television Center. UND students produce news, weather, sports, and entertainment segments. In addition, they interview guests ranging from local people to national and international celebrities. The students deal with every facet of creating a live television show by working in teams. Four teams create the show: News, Programming, Production and Marketing. The program debuted February 5, 1987, and was thirty minutes in length. Due to budget cuts, Studio One was cancelled January through May 1989. The studio's first one hour show aired April 27, 1990. The program is telecast live on Grand Forks Cable Channel 3 and is repeated several times during the week in Grand Forks, East Grand Forks, Minot, Bismarck, Mandan, Fargo, Minneapolis and Winnipeg. It is also broadcast on Prairie Public Television to communities across North Dakota, eastern Minnesota, and southern Manitoba.
