The Legislative Research Committee, renamed the Legislative Council in 1969, was formed in 1945. Its purpose was to prepare bills for consideration by the legislature, perform legislature directed studies and present the information found. Wenstrom was a member of this committee from 1957-60 and was Chairman of the Subcommittee on Constitutional Revision from 1965-66. This series includes correspondence between committee members, meeting minutes, reports containing background on proposed constitutional revisions. The LRC studied a wide range of subject matters such as taxation, education, and natural resources.
