Series 7 contains records related to Charles Olmstead (1842-1917), who ran a general store in Larimore.  He was born December 28, 1842, in Orleans County, New York.  During the Civil War, he served in the Union Army, with both the Second Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regiment and the Second Michigan Cavalry.  He moved to Larimore in 1881.  His connection to Elk Valley Farms is uncertain, as is how the Elk Valley Farms came into possession of these documents.  Charles Olmstead died March 7, 1917, in Grand Forks County.
