Scope and Contents
During the Persian Gulf War, teacher Nancy Harvey's fifth grade class in the Thompson Public School (Thompson, North Dakota) regularly corresponded with Second Lieutenant Davina French, a soldier from Tacoma, Washington stationed in the Persian Gulf. Following the war's conclusion, French came to Thompson and visited her pen pals. This one folder of material, donated by Nancy Harvey, contains photocopied correspondence between Lt. French and the students in Ms. Harvey's class in 1990-1991. (Accession # 94-1944) One video tape, depicting Lt. French's meeting with the Thompson fifth graders following the war, was separated.
