Scope and Contents
This series contains political and legislative documents concerning the activities of Reinhold M. Streibel and Bryce Streibel. Reinhold M. Streibel served as a North Dakota State Senator from 1936 to 1956. He served nine out of ten sessions as the Floor Leader for the Nonpartisan League. His son, Bryce Streibel, served in the North Dakota House of Representatives from 1956 to 1960, and again from 1962 to 1974. He ran as the Republican Party nominee for Lieutenant Governor in 1960. Bryce Streibel served as the Minority Leader in the House from 1964 to 1966 as well as the Majority Leader in the House from 1966 to 1974. Bryce Streibel then served as a North Dakota State Senator from 1980 to 1996. The series contains a limited collection of papers belonging to Reinhold Streibel. Bryce Streibel's papers include correspondence, meeting minutes, newsletters, reports, and other items reflecting his legislative work in the North Dakota House of Representatives and Senate. The series also includes political papers from his time out of office: 1960-1962, 1974-1980, and 1996-2000. Bryce Streibel campaign materials, campaign fund records, and speeches are included in the series. In addition, the series contains certificates of nomination and election, North Dakota Assembly seating arrangement brochures and directories.
