United States v. Carlos Marcello, et al, Cr. 81-720-RJK in Central District of California. Marcello, described in one newspaper account as "the most powerful Mafia boss in the USA after Carl Gambino," was convicted of conspiracy to obstruct justice and attempted bribery of a federal judge. Two co-conspirators were also convicted. Complete trial documents including pre-trial motions, jury instructions, Judge Devitt's trial notes, and post-trial motions.
