United States v. Bruce Ray Fairbanks, Cr. 6-88-88. Pled guilty to felony assault with a screwdriver upon a Native American woman. At issue was whether the 5th Amendment double jeopardy clause applies when an individual is convicted of a misdemeanor in a Tribal Court and is subsequently charged under federal law with a felony for the same offense. Documents include organizational charts and funding contracts for the Tribal Court Program of the Red Lake Band of Chippewa Indians. Pre-trial motions.
