Scope and Contents

"This play suit was worn to the community picnic on the banks of the Sheyenne River in the summer of 1934. According to the snapshot, I got very dirty. According to the baby book, I embarrassed my mother and amused the menfolk with my command of barnyard English--learned of course, by hanging around the barns, And egged on, no doubt, by three teen aged brothers who thought it funny to teach the baby naughty words. What I remember about this picnic was losing my mother. (My brother found her). The garment was too big, so it probably was worn again the next year."
