These files relate to the book Pierriche: A Biographical History Novel written by Louis Ritchotte in 2000. The book regards the legendary Metis fur trader and musician, Pierre Falcon, also known as Pierriche. Employed by the Northwest Trading Company, Pierriche extensively traded furs in the first part of the 19th Century, in addition to leading a wagon train to present day California. Louis Ritchotte (1942-2014) was Pierriche’s great-great grandson. Ritchotte spent over two years researching and writing the book, which utilized numerous Canadian church and family historical sources. Pierriche: A Biographical History Novel is available in Special Collections. This material was donated to Special Collections in April 2007 by unknown persons (2007-2900).
