Scope and Contents

From the Series:

“As I Remember St. Paul of Tarsus’ Parish” is a seven page document outlining the history of Tarsus Catholic Church, located near Bottineau, North Dakota. The fifth page notes that it was “Narrated by Claudia DuBois Bergeron.” This is followed by a single page, handwritten document by “Sr. Mildred,” which lists the priests who led the congregation. The last page consists of a photocopy from an unknown publication which features a short paragraph on the early history of the church. The church was built in 1899 and closed in either 1947 (according to Sister Mildred), or 1948, per Claudia Bergeron. These documents were given to Dr. Virgil Benoit, who donated them to Special Collections. The original donor is unknown.
