Kacie Richard of Rolette, North Dakota, delivered this speech to her 11th grade English Class at Rolette Public School. The speech examined the history of the Acadians and highlighted their struggles due to British aggression during the French and Indian War.  Many Acadians were displaced, exiled or became prisoners of war. Kacie Richard donated the speech text to Dr. Virgil Benoit, who deposited the essay in Special Collections in April 2008 (2009-2949).
